The Best Pumpkin Patches in Pittsburgh for Fall Fun

Whether or not you’re mourning the end of summer, it’s hard to deny that there’s something refreshing about the crisp, cool air and turning leaves of autumn. It’s the season for cozy sweaters, back-to-school routines, and most importantly, getting ready for Halloween. This week we’re sharing our favorite pumpkin patches near our Pittsburgh luxury apartments, so you can grab your seasonal décor and start thinking about this year’s Jack-O-Lantern theme.

Soergel’s is a dynamic place at any time of year, but the orchard really comes alive in the fall. Each weekend from September 21st-October 27th, Soergel’s offers pick-your-own events, where you can explore their beautiful acreage and pick out treats to bring home. Their pumpkin patch offers an impressive selection, and you can pick up some apples for seasonal pies and treats while you’re at it. Each weekend of the Fall Festival also features an eclectic assortment of local vendors to check out after you’ve hit the pumpkin patch. Try delicious baked goods, cider, roasted nuts, and organic fruits and veggies. Head to their website to find out all the details and plan your visit today!

Just south of the city, you’ll find Triple B Farms, a classic, family-oriented farm that hosts exciting fall events and activities. Pick your own pumpkins days at Triple B start at the end of September and go strong through October. If you’re looking for a full day of family fun, you might also consider heading over early on a Saturday or Sunday and purchasing a wristband which gives you access to an all-inclusive day of games and activities. Weave your way through the corn maze, meet the farm animals, and try your hand at the hay bale jump. You can also visit the market on your way out and pick up farm fresh produce, baked goods, or fudge to bring home. Check out their website for more details.

Simmons Farm is another great option for seasonal fun. Their fall activities begin in mid-September and continue on through November 3rd. A one-day ticket will grant you access to games, mazes, and play areas, as well as a hayride into the pumpkin patch and one pumpkin of any size. You can also browse their gorgeous floral arrangements while you’re at it! For more details, head to their website and browse the calendar of events.
