As part of their ongoing initiative to encourage safe, healthy, and eco-friendly transportation options in Pittsburgh, PedalPGH will be hosting their 25th-anniversary celebration ride this summer on Sunday, August 26th. Join friends, family, and neighbors in supporting a worthy cause with a fun ride through your favorite neighborhoods, parks, and streets while supporting a safer and healthier Pittsburgh.
In partnership with UPMC Health Plan, BikePGH expects over 3,000 participants for an exciting milestone ride, and since 2012, the annual event has raised over $330,000 for bicycle and pedestrian programs that have resulted in safer streets for Pittsburgh and increased access to transportation for all.
The route will begin and end at Southside Riverfront Park and will run from 7:00 AM- 3:00 PM. Cyclists can sign up for a choice of four different rides depending on age, experience, and personal preference. Routes include the 10 mile People’s Local Loop, 25 Mile UPS City Tour, 40 Mile Alco Parking Grand Tour, and the 62 Mile BikePGH Challenge. In addition to being able to participate in all the fun and donate to a great cause, all registrations include a limited edition 25th anniversary t-shirt, PedalPGH water bottle, personalized bib number, fun rest stops with refreshments throughout, and access to the celebratory finish line festival. All proceeds from tickets purchased go to the BikePGH mission to continue increasing the safety of Pittsburgh’s streets. For more information, or to register for the ride, click here
Want to join in on the fun without the ride? Sign up to volunteer! BikePGH is seeking volunteers to help hand out snacks and drinks at rest stops, organize and pass out t-shirts, and help the largest community ride of its kind in Pennsylvania run smoothly.
